VISITORS' EXPERIENCE AT THE ART GALLERIES/MUSEUMS

Explore how visitors feel when they are inside an art gallery/museum.

 

Find out through a questionnaire and case studies.

 

Identify what impresses visitors in an art gallery, also what affects visitors’ emotion, behaviour and interaction.

 

Find out through questionnaire and case studies. Also gathering information from secondary research to conduct primary research.

 

Investigate the factors affecting visitors’ feeling and overall experience when they are interacting with the art galleries/museums.

 

Gathering and studying information from secondary sources, and studying and analysing questionnaire results and case studies. To combine insights from secondary and primary research.

 

Formulate suggestions about what can be improved in the art gallery in order to provide a better experience for visitors?

 

Analysing and discussing information from both secondary sources and primary sources.

 

At the end of this research, I will sum up all information to support my final year project design.

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in art galleries/museums.

The space planning, green space, building size and scale, colour scheme, natural light, lighting and ceiling height, all of those design elements are affecting visitors’ experience inside the art gallery/museum. The relationship between visitors and interior architecture design has been widely investigated.

 

Art changes, so do art galleries. The new architecture, new space and new thought, basically reflect the trend of visitors’ preference for new and interesting interior spaces in art galleries. Therefore, this paper critically discusses the relationship between visitor’s experience and art gallery/museum design.
